Mr. Bravman also serves on the boards and as an advisor of several venture-backed technology companies.
: Tom Hawkins joined Arcapita Ventures in 2005 and has more than 22 years of venture capital, entrepreneurial and operational experience. Prior to joining Arcapita, Tom was an Investment Partner with the Corporate Fund of Siemens Venture Capital ("SVC"), the $850 million venture capital arm of Siemens AG (NYSE: SI), where he managed investment activity in the areas of information technology, communications and industrial automation & control. Prior to SVC, Tom was a General Partner with Cordova Ventures, a $250 million venture capital firm in Atlanta, where he focused on enterprise and infrastructure software, communications and industrial technology. Tom received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University and holds his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
: Ketan Patel, Principal, joined New Venture Partners in 2006. Previously, he worked in a variety of operational roles in the semiconductor industry, encompassing startups and large multinational corporations. Ketan holds a BS, magna cum laude, in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University, an MS, cum laude, in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
: While at Texas Instruments, Julie was responsible for the overall strategy and leading TI’s RFID business, which was the leader in asset identification and secure contactless products. Previously, Julie led the business unit which delivered custom high-performance UltraSPARC microprocessors to Sun Microsystems. She became a vice president in 1994. Prior to 1994, she held leadership positions in engineering, manufacturing, quality and business management.
Julie is a nationally recognized business and technology leader. She received the 2004 Henry Laurence Gantt Medal by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the American Management Association. She was honored with the Texas Tech University Distinguished Engineer award and inducted into the Women in Technology International Hall of Fame. In 2008 she was one of the Top 15 Women Innovators in Business by PINK magazine, the national magazine for professional women. In 2009, she was awarded the Distinguished Information Sciences Award by the Association of Information Technology Professionals.
Julie serves on the Engineering Dean’s Council at Texas Tech University and the board of directors of the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum. She was a director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, American Electronics Association and AIM Global board of directors. Julie holds a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas Tech University and is a graduate of Stanford University’s Executive Program in Strategy and Organization.

: New Venture Partners, Partner, joined New Venture Partners and opened its Silicon Valley office in 2007. He is focused on developing relationships with corporate R&D teams and strategic business units. David joined New Venture Partners from Amazon.com where he was Vice President of Platform Strategy and CEO of its A9.com subsidiary. Prior to Amazon/A9, David was Vice President and Director of Research at Intel Corporation where he pioneered an "open collaborative" approach to corporate research.
: Arcapita, Senior Associate Linnea joined Arcapita in 2007 with over 5 years of technology experience in the hospitality and retail industries. Linnea holds a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Duke University and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
